Thanks to an idea from Pinterest our hallway has a little more personality! I took ribbon, 18" long on each side and hot glued it to the BACK of the frame for the 2 outside frames and to the SIDE of the frame for the picture in the middle.
I like gluing it to the back because you can see a bit more of the ribbon when you do! This project probably took 20 minutes at the most! The original post that I saw only used black ribbon which was great but our hallway needed a splash more! Total cost $22 for frames and ribbon!
We are not huge "fixer uppers" but we have had some fun turning a dining room into a nursery! I have loved perusing Pinterest so I thought it would be fun to post some of our favorite ideas that haven't bombed!

A couple Nursery and Home Ideas
When we started our nursery we had several pieces of old furniture, a dresser, a chair, and a 1970s toy box. With a few coats of paint we were able to make each piece feel "new" again! We found a decal company on line for the toy chest and added the "G" to make it feel a bit more customized. After we placed the G, it still needed something. I took remnents from the paint we used for Whit's nursery and painted the top of it. We then applied a clear coat and so far, it hasn't chipped!
As for the chair, well, there are so many sweet memories of my grandparents using that chair and then again using it to rock me as a child. It was very apropos that Whit have the same chair in his nursery. It was a dark wood and we applied several coats of white paint to spruce it up.
The foot rest we made as well. It was a leather decorative box that came from Hobby Lobby. I got some material and pillow stuffing and glued it to the top of the box. Because the chair sits fairly low, it was tough to find a foot rest, this ended up being a perfect solution. The fun part is that the top lifts off and we can hide toys, books, whatever in there and Whit loves finding new toys hidden inside of it!
The dresser was relatively easy as well. We sanded it, then found "Cinnamon Bun" paint at Lowe's and applied a couple of coats. Because it was made in the 80s, we could not find drawer pulls. We had to fill in the holes with putty and redrill according to the new pulls dimensions. Very simple fix!
The curtains were about our only affordable solution to creating somewhat of a sound and light barrier to his nursery. French doors would have made our home feel more closed and considering this won't be his room forever, just not a practical solution. Therefore, we went with the curtains from Ikea which were blackout to provide enough darkness.
Lastly, we had to add a door! It was a $19 door from Lowe's so that was a pretty simple fix as well! With the hardware and all, probably ended up being around $45 total. Not bad to add a sound barrier to the kitchen!
This room was a bright cranberry and used as a dining room so it's definitely taken on a new personality! It's still a "happy spot" inside our house with enough old pieces to make it feel homey and remind us of our own childhood:)
